Dr. Jennifer Kleinow’s research interests focus on various topics in speech motor control (how the brain coordinates and executes the movements required for fluent speech) in both typical and disordered speakers. Her current laboratory projects include measuring the effects of speech therapy devices on speech production, examining new techniques for the measurement and recording of human speech, and documenting the relationship between cognitive linguistic processing and speech motor control. She welcomes both undergraduate and graduate students to participate in these projects. She is a clinical supervisor for graduate students in both pediatric and adult settings and has developed an interest in service-learning models of clinical education.
