Jennifer Bellot, Ph.D., RN, MHSA, CNE

Jennifer Bellot, PhD, RN, MHSA, CNE is Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Jen received her bachelor’s degree in nursing and master’s in health services administration (public health) at the University of Michigan. She earned a PhD in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, studying culture change initiatives in nursing homes and their effects on nursing staff. Dr. Bellot also earned her post-master’s certificate in nursing education at La Salle University.
Prior to joining LaSalle, Dr. Bellot taught at Thomas Jefferson University for ten years and directed the Doctor of Nursing Practice program for three years. From 2011-14, she was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nurse Faculty Scholar, analyzing the population of Medicare beneficiaries served by Nurse Managed Centers. She is Senior Fellow and member of the Nursing Advisory Board, Lambert Center for the Study of Medicinal Cannabis and Hemp.
Dr. Bellot thoroughly enjoys teaching graduate-level nursing students, focusing on research methods, population health and health policy. Dr. Bellot is a strong community and professional advocate, presently serving on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, immediate Past-President of the Board of Directors of Families Forward Philadelphia and an active Court Appointed Special Advocate. She continues to practice, providing care to young children with cerebral palsy and pervasive developmental delays as well as serving as a child advocate for medically-intensive foster children in Philadelphia Family Court.
