Dr. Diana Montague is an Associate Professor of Psychology at La Salle University. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Rider University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Developmental and Social Psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Dr. Montague is a lifespan developmental psychologist and emotion researcher—she has studied infants as young as 3 months of age and adults as old as 70+ years. At La Salle, Dr. Montague leads an emotion, diversity, and human development research group to develop research ideas and support the implementation of various studies in emotion and interpersonal relationships, in children, adolescents, and adults from ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse communities. Professionally, Dr. Montague also was on the Executive Committee of the International Society for Research on Emotion and was a former Chair/Director of La Salle’s Institutional Review Board and a former Assistant Chair of La Salle’s Psychology Department. She was inducted into the Rider University Science Stairway of Fame in 2010. She is active as a community volunteer and as an invited speaker-educator for parent groups and teachers.

Dr. Montague identifies as a White, cishet, second-generation Sicilian American woman and twice-exceptional developmental scientist and research mentor. She enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and their spouses, and grandchildren. She resides in central New Jersey, not far from her large Sicilian American family.
