Dr. Fingerhut received his B.A. degree in Psychology from Emory University in 1994 and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1999 from The University of Miami. He completed a clinical internship at Duke University Medical Center in 1999 and a postdoctoral fellowship at University of Pennsylvania Health System, Center for Cognitive Therapy in 2000. In 2000, Dr. Fingerhut joined the Psychology Department at La Salle as an Adjunct Professor. He became a full-time faculty member in 2003. Dr. Fingerhut’s research interests have focused on understanding psychosocial risk factors associated with perinatal mood and anxiety. He is also interested in examining the self-care practices of clinical psychology graduate students. His clinical interests include cognitive-behavioral therapy for mood disorders and postpartum depression.

Dr. Fingerhut teaches Introduction to Ethics, Advanced Ethics, Advanced CBT, Mechanisms of Change, and Practicum Seminar for the Psy.D. program. He is also a licensed psychologist and owns a private practice in Wynnewood, PA. In his spare time, Dr. Fingerhut enjoys cooking, running, and travel.
