Graduate students may apply for the credit-based Graduate PLUS Loan by logging in to www.studentloans.gov using the student’s FSA ID.
Please note that all loans are processed on a full year basis, and are disbursed as half in each term (fall and spring semesters). The exception to this is if you are completing your program at the end of fall semester, or beginning your program as of spring or summer semester.
When your loan request is approved, the application will be sent to La Salle for certification. At this time, you may complete your Master Promissory Note (MPN) and, if necessary, Graduate Entrance Counseling. Both of these items can also be found within www.studentloans.gov, and must be completed prior to loan funds being disbursed to your account.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If a student is denied a Graduate PLUS Loan, the federal processor will notify the student in writing and provide the student an opportunity to appeal the denial or reapply with a credit-worthy cosigner.
