Health and Wellness

Ensuring our students' success is a top priority for the University at all times. As you adjust to our new remote learning experience, use the following information and events to support you through the transition.

La Salle Recreation

Recreation presents Virtual Training through Zoom (Zumba and Yoga)

Virtual Zumba and Yoga classes are being offered by La Salle Recreation. Students, faculty, and staff will have to sign into a google docs form to register for the classes. We will then send out the link to those who register for the Zoom class meeting through email. Class offerings will be shared on the La Salle Recreation Facebook page.

Student Wellness

Student Wellness Services at La Salle University is here to help you in this time of transition and stress. Providing you with best practices information and guidance to maintain your health and well-being is our primary mission. We will be utilizing various technological tools and platforms to achieve our goals. Listed below are the various ways in which you can access our services.

  • Daily tips and information will continue to be posted on our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook Like us or follow us to receive.
  • Weekly updates on relevant health information will appear on Campuswell (Sign up for the app or access through your La Salle app,in the third-party apps section).
  • Weekly Wellness Wednesday sessions will occur on Wednesdays from 12:30-1 p.m. on the Wellness at La Salle Facebook page using Facebook Live, from April 1-29.
  • Weekly Mindfulness Meditation sessions will be held on Thursdays from 12:30-1 p.m. with Kate Ward-Gaus on the Wellness at La Salle Facebook page using Facebook Live, from April 1-29.
  • CHARGE, our partner providing nutrition services, will be providing sessions remotely. To access nutrition services, email


Student Counseling Center

The Student Counseling Center is accessible during regular business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. by calling 215-951-1355 and leaving a message. An after-hours telecounseling service is available Monday – Friday from 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 a.m. and throughout the weekend by calling 215-951-1355 and pressing option #2.

Same day appointments are available to full time undergraduate students. Students can request a mental health consultation via Zoom (similar to our walk-in sessions) by calling 215-951-1355 and leaving a message or by emailing Joanne Dooley at before 10 a.m. on weekdays.

Student Health Services

Staff members will be checking and responding to emails and voicemails during business hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Contact us at or 215-951-1565.

Nurse Practitioners will be returning health- medical-related questions between 3 – 5 p.m. daily. Administrative questions or concerns will be answered in the order in which they are received.

Students should seek assistance for COVID-19 symptoms through their primary care provider. Call before going to your doctor’s office or visiting an emergency room.

The Basket

The University’s food pantry, The Basket, is open on Tuesdays from 12:30–2 p.m. and 4:30–7 p.m., and on Thursdays from 12:30–2 p.m. in the lower level of St. Benilde Tower.  The Basket’s location in College Hall’s lower level provides access to canned and packaged foods only. It is open Monday–Friday, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
