Teacher Certification
Pennsylvania Teacher Certification, both Instructional I (Provisional) and Instructional II (Permanent), can be obtained via the Graduate Program in Education.
A Pennsylvania certification is automatically recognized as valid in more than half of the states in the U.S. La Salle’s teacher education requirements are commonly accepted for certification in the remaining states.
Scope
Certification programs are offered to post-baccalaureate students intending to pursue Pennsylvania Instructional I certification in either Early Childhood and Special Education or Secondary Education. Post-baccalaureate certification candidates commonly take the M.A. degree as part of their certification program. Completion of certification requirements and successful completion of the capstone course usually fulfills all degree requirements.
Candidacy Procedures and Professional Requirements for Teacher Certification
Individuals must already be matriculated in the Graduate Program in Education in order to become accepted as candidates for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania teacher certification. Candidates must be in good academic standing and show evidence of the professionalism as defined in the Graduate Catalog.
