In recent months, La Salle welcomed new and returning faces to campus in various senior executive leadership roles:  

Shivanthi Anandan, Ph.D., is the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. The university’s chief academic officer, she oversees curriculum and works with leadership, faculty, and the Board of Trustees to support student success and ensure that academic programs and services reflect La Salle’s mission and core values. She previously served as Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education at Drexel University. Anandan holds a Ph.D. in biology from UCLA.  

Mark E. Engberg, Ph.D., is Chief of Staff to the Office of the President. He is charged with overseeing the execution and assessment of La Salle’s strategic initiatives; managing daily operations, including special projects through the Office of the President; and guiding critical accreditation processes; among other responsibilities. Engberg, who has more than 20 years of higher education experience, earned a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Michigan.  

Christopher Lydon, M.A. ’98, is the Interim Vice President of Enrollment Management. Lydon, who has nearly four decades of experience in Catholic higher education enrollment management, most recently concluded his seventh year at The Catholic University of America. There, he served as Vice President for Enrollment Management, developing and executing recruitment and retention strategies. Lydon earned a master of arts degree in professional communication from La Salle.  

Alisa Macksey is the Vice President of Mission, Diversity, and Inclusion, ensuring La Salle meets its core values and mission through a commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Macksey has nearly two decades of professional work experience tied directly to the Lasallian mission and Lasallian education—most recently at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, where she is finishing her doctoral dissertation on higher educational executive leadership.
