Identifying the 30th President of La Salle University

The search is on for La Salle University’s 30th President.

Throughout the summer and into the fall, La Salle’s Presidential Search Committee has carried forward the plan to identify and install the University’s next full-time President. The Committee formed in June, with representatives across the University community, and has since retained AGB Search as its search firm partner.

Listening sessions in August and September gave the University community multiple opportunities to share insights, perspectives, and desired characteristics for the successor to Colleen M. Hanycz, Ph.D., whose six-year presidential tenure concluded in June. Since July, alumnus Tim O’Shaughnessy, ’85, has served as the University’s Interim President. He joined the University in January 2021 as Executive Vice President.

Now, the profile for La Salle’s next President has been fully formed and posted externally, with candidate and finalist interviews to follow. The aim is an official University announcement coming early in the new year, said University Trustee AmyLynn Flood, CPA, ’95, Chair of La Salle’s Presidential Search Committee.

“I am thankful for the level of awareness, engagement, and willingness to partake in difficult conversations that has been demonstrated by our community as we embark on this search process,” Flood said. “These will serve us well as we work to identify our next leader.”
