elliottLinda J. Elliott, a former professor and Chair of the Math and Computer Science Department, passed away on Oct. 19, 2015, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Florida, after battling with central nervous system lymphoma. She was 66.

A native of Wisconsin, Elliott earned a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in African educational systems, and another from the University of Oregon in computer science. In 1982, she joined the faculty at La Salle, where she remained her entire teaching career.

Her extensive office hours, informal lecturing methods, and constant willingness to help made her a favorite among students. Elliott became Chair of the Math and Computer Science Department in 1998 and held that position until she retired in June 2008 and moved to Florida.

She is survived by her son, Zachary Elliott; her father, Harold, and brother H. John Huberty; her sister, Mary Te Stroete; her aunt Marion (Huberty) McDonough; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
