In just a few short weeks, faculty, staff, and students in the School of Business will settle into their new space on the corner of Wister Street and Chew Avenue. The newly finished 87,000-square-foot building will welcome about 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students for approximately 125 business courses each semester.

But the new building will also attract additional foot traffic from students of all disciplines as it will provide a new home for Career Services, which will be moving to West Campus from its current location in the Lawrence Administration Building.

“Employers need to know that our students are ready for the future, and if those employers walk into a building where the future already exists, that gives La Salle and our students more opportunities to shine,” said Associate Dean of Students Anna Melnyk Allen, ’80.

Equipped with the latest technology and video conferencing capabilities, the enhanced facilities will enable Career Services to host proactive and targeted programming, mock interviews with staff and faculty to prepare students for interviews with potential employers, and tutorials in online interviewing for students from all disciplines. “We’re also going to be looking for more opportunities to collaborate on career-focused activities that are already happening in academic departments throughout the University, to support the strong programming some departments have, and to supplement those who need more assistance,” Allen said.
