Program Highlights
A Personalized Approach
Opportunities in nutrition are broad and abundant, and the faculty and staff of La Salle’s Nutrition programs, work with every student to help them achieve their goals and get them where they want to go—whether it’s a job in a health-care setting, in a public health agency, in business and media, or in education and research.
Professional Networking
Through the program’s links to regional and national organizations in dietetics and nutrition, students interact with professionals working in the field who can offer guidance and encouragement. As a result of these interactions, many organizations seek out La Salle students to hire for full-time positions.
Theory to Practice
Philadelphia offers a wealth of options to match any student’s interests and to allow them to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom. In recent years, many La Salle students have gained professional experience through internships and jobs at varied city agencies and organizations, including clinical settings such as Albert Einstein Healthcare Network to community settings such as Penn State Extension, which provides nutrition education programs for at-risk populations, and Manna, a home-delivered meal and nutrition-counseling service for people with chronic diseases who cannot leave their homes.
