President Colleen M. Hanycz, Ph.D. and Brother Ernest Miller, F.S.C., D. Min., presented Dr. Rhonda Hazell with the 2019-2020 Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award at the University’s Opening Meeting on August 19. Dr. Hazell begins her 18th year as a professor at La Salle, and specializes as Coordinator for Anatomy and Physiology in the Biology Department. Outside the classroom, Dr. Hazell is well known for her service and volunteer work with students at the local soup kitchen and through service trips to the Dominican Republic. Dr. Hazell’s passion for helping others, both inside and outside the classroom, inspire both students and faculty alike to remember why they are pursuing their career – to ultimately help others.
