Dr. Steven F. Siconolfi, Interim Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, joined La Salle in this capacity in June 2020.

Dr. Siconolfi has spent more than 30 years of his professional career in research and education—from a YMCA fitness director and associate and full college professor, to NASA research scientist and higher education administrator, including terms as an associate dean of research and senior vice president and provost. Most recently, Dr. Siconolfi served as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania, having previously served in the same role at Rockford College in Illinois. He has guided leadership teams across various areas of campus life, including academics, athletics, development, enrollment, information technology, and student affairs.

He is a data-driven, compassionate administrator who has developed a number of tools to help academic leaders make informed decisions. He has an academic management reputation for being open, fair, and transparent in his data-driven decision making.

While at NASA, Dr. Siconolfi helped write the first exercise prescriptions used on the International Space Station. He also holds two U.S. Patents from his work with NASA and a Space Act Agreement that featured his computer-generated exercise prescriptions. His near 100 publications have been referenced more than 1,600 times. He continues to review for various journals and provides consulting to those universities that wish to have a more data-driven academic model.

Dr. Siconolfi earned a Ph.D. in exercise physiology from Kent State University, and he holds both a graduate and undergraduate degree from Springfield College in Massachusetts. He has been married to his high school sweetheart for more than 45 years, and has one daughter and four grandchildren.
