John G. Taylor, PhD, M.Ed., MACC, LPC

Dr. Taylor received his PhD in Human Sexuality Studies and Master of Education in Human Sexuality Studies from Widener University. He received his Master in Christian Counseling from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Fayetteville State University.

Prior to joining La Salle, Dr. Taylor worked as a correctional officer, probation/parole officer for the North Carolina Department of Corrections. Throughout his career he has worked as a domestic violence group facilitator, HIV case manager, and substance abuse counselor. Dr. Taylor is a licensed professional counselor and sexuality educator that counsels’ individuals, families, and couples that are dealing with trauma, depression, marital conflict, intimacy issues, male infertility, sexuality, gender identity, anxiety, and suicidal ideations.

Dr. Taylor taught as an adjunct professor at Drexel University and LaSalle University and accepted a full-time position at LaSalle in 2021. His research focuses on exploring the impact of structural violence (police violence and racism/discrimination) on the mental health and sexual behavior of Black men.
