Zuzelo Presents at National Nursing Conference

Patti Rager Zuzelo, EdD, RN, ACNS-BC, ANP-BC, FAAN, Director of La Salle’s Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, and professor of nursing, presented at the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists Annual National Conference. The conference was held in San Antonio, Texas, from March 7–9 and focused on leading innovations for health care change. Zuzelo presented at two sessions entitled: Legislative-Regulatory Preconference: Update on the Status of the APRN Consensus Model and DNP Degree Antagonism and Ambivalence: CNS as Anachronism?

Zuzelo Appointed Reviewer for Research in Nursing and Health

Patti Rager Zuzelo, EdD, RN, ACNS-BC, ANP-BC, FAAN, Director of La Salle’s Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, and professor of nursing, has been appointed as a reviewer for Research in Nursing and Health, which is a peer-reviewed research journal devoted to a wide range of research and theory that informs the practice of nursing and other health disciplines.

Gerry Ehrmann Altmiller, EdD, MSN, APRN, assistant professor of nursing, presented at Elsevier Faculty Development Institute Conference. The conference was held in Las Vegas, NV, from January 2-5 and focused on providing nurse educators with effective and innovative teaching methods. Altmiller presented at two sessions entitled, Strategies to Infuse the QSEN Competencies into Classroom and Clinical Teaching and Giving and Receiving Constructive Feedback: A Skill to Support Quality and Safety.

Altmiller also presented at the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists Annual National Conference. The conference was held in San Antonio, Texas, from March 7-9, and focused on leading innovations for health care change. Altmiller presented at two sessions entitled: Teaching Clinical Nurse Specialist Students to Resolve Conflict: Strategies that Promote Effective Communication and Teamwork and Giving and Receiving Constructive Feedback: The Role of Preceptors in Developing this Skill.

Czekanski and Wolf, PhD, Co-author Article on Encouraging and Evaluating Class Participation

Czekanski, Ph.D., R.N., CNE, Associate Dean for Nursing Programs and associate professor of nursing, published their article entitled “Encouraging and Evaluation Class Participation.” The article can be found in the March 2013 issue of Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice , volume 10, issue 1.

Altmiller Selected as an Expert to Attend Symposium on Improving Health Care

Gerry Ehrmann Altmiller, EdD, MSN, APRN, assistant professor of nursing, was selected as a member of a national group of about 65 experts, to attend a summer symposium on improving health care. The group’s main focus is to improve the quality and safety of health care while teaching the next generation of health care professionals to lead in this work.
