Career Center

The Career Center offers individualized, in-person and online appointments for current students and alumni to help with career planning and job searching.

Services

The following services are available by appointment or during drop-in hours to discuss your individualized needs with a Career Peer Advisor or Career Counselor. Appointments are usually 30-45 minutes in length, and a Career Counselor speaks with you one-on-one. Appointments can be scheduled through Handshake or you may call 215.951.1075. Drop-ins are 5-10 minutes in length and hosted by a Career Peer Advisor; no appointment necessary.

Resume & Cover Letter Reviews

A resume and cover letter are a way to clearly and concisely convey your abilities and market your skills and experiences to prospective employers. Career Peer Advisors at the Career Center are available by appointment or during drop-in hours to review your materials to help you give the best impression possible to employers.

Self-Assessment

Take a self-assessment through Focus 2 to explore which major or career path best fits your needs and interests. Our Career Counselors are available by appointment to discuss your results with you and to help you chart a path towards your goals at La Salle.

Job and Internship Search

Our Career Counselors will help you in your job and internship search, working with you to provide resources on opportunities and to assist you in your search for the right position during your time at La Salle and after graduation. Handshake, La Salle’s job portal, is an easy-to-use platform and a valuable tool to search for job opportunities.

Mock Interviews

Schedule an appointment to conduct a practice interview in preparation for a job or internship interview you have scheduled with a prospective employer. Mock interviews allow you to polish your communication skills in a similar environment to a real interview and provides the opportunity to receive constructive feedback on answers and non-verbal behaviors. You can schedule your mock interview on handshake or by contacting the Career Center.

Career Readiness

We are committed to helping you transition from college to career for a successful life beyond La Salle. During your time at La Salle, you’ll develop key competencies to prepare you for your career, from cultivating critical thinking skills, to helping you build diverse perspectives. The events, services, and programs provided through the Career Center will help you further develop the competencies and skills needed to prepare you for an accomplished life beyond college.

Job Fairs and Networking Events

Attend our on-campus job fair events to explore opportunities and build professional connections by networking in-person at on-campus or off-campus events, and virtually through Handshake.

On-Campus Recruiting and Interviewing

Connect with local and national employers, Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations, and government agencies through our On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) Program. The OCR Program is open to all current students. Positions are posted in Handshake and interviews with employers and recruiters are held through the Career Center.

Career Closet

The Career Closet is a collection of business formal and casual wear that is free to all students. Please stop by Founders’ Hall, Room 128 during our regular office hours to utilize.
