Career Peers

What is a Career Peer Advisor?

Career Peer Advisors are a bridge between the Career Center office and the student body. As paraprofessional staff, Career Peer Advisors are an essential part of the work environment in the Career Center at La Salle University, and as such, are expected to maintain a professional, courteous, and confidential manner in dealing with faculty, staff, students, employers, and alumni. Career Peer Advisors use this professional bridge to provide fellow students with resume writing, major exploration, and workshops on career-related topics. Career Peer Advisors go through the training necessary to conduct such tasks.

Career Peers can help you by:

  • Reviewing your resume or cover letter during drop-in hours at the Career Center and Connelly Library.
  • Assisting with your Handshake profile and Handshake questions.
  • Presenting to your student organization or classroom on resume or cover letter writing, Handshake, or a Career Center overview.
  • Partnering with RAs, CAs, or CCs on career development/skill development programming.
