Submit a User Inquiry form to begin the process of using instrumentation at the center. This will include a short description of the research being conducted, possible hazards, the number of users interested in instrumentation use, and the type of user (undergraduate, graduate, faculty, corporate, government). For questions on our instruments prior to submitting the form and what the instruments are appropriate for, please email the lab manager at LabManager@lasalle.edu. If you have not heard back about your User Inquiry Form within 3 weeks, you may also email the lab manager directly to follow up about your inquiry.
All external users will be required to confirm that they are insured by their institution or company and must sign an external user agreement.
General laboratory safety and, if needed, X-ray safety training can be completed online. Instrument-specific training can be scheduled with an authorized trained user at La Salle. Instrument-specific training should take about 1 hour. Users may bring samples that they are interested in analyzing. Instrument usage time can be scheduled immediately after training, subject to availability.
Payments can be made via checks payable to La Salle University or by ACH. An invoice will be sent to the user or institution. If sending money by ACH, additional forms will be sent to the user to be completed. Payment for training and user fees must be set up prior to the in-person training. Checks can be mailed ahead of time or brought the day of the training prior to instrument use. Funds can be rolled over for subsequent visits, or refunded. Cancellations require 24-hr notice, and can be re-scheduled.
Email LabManager@lasalle.edu or your trained La Salle faculty collaborator to schedule instrument time, available during standard business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.). All instrument use requires a trained La Salle instrument user to be present. Users are also expected to abide by laboratory and instrument-specific safety guidelines. Payment at least 1 week prior to the scheduled visit is also required.
When your research is ready for presentation and/or publication, please acknowledge that your work utilized the Explorer Research Instrumentation Center with funding provided by National Science Foundation EAR-IF Award #2323242. Please also email LabManager@lasalle.edu a copy of the publication. This helps us keep track of instrumentation use for future funding opportunities and collaborations.
