Spring 2 – March 1

Admission Requirements

  1. A completed application
  2. Official transcript(s) from all colleges/universities you have attended for your undergraduate and graduate degree, if applicable.  You need to have completed your undergraduate program from an accredited college/university. If you are in the process of completing undergraduate coursework, you may submit transcripts with courses that are in progress. If admitted, you must submit your final, official transcript(s) with the degree conferred date prior to enrollment.
    • In order for a transcript to be official, it must be received directly from the college/university or through an official third-party service such as Parchment or the National Student Clearinghouse. Transcripts received from applicants and/or an unapproved third party will be considered unofficial.
    • If you completed your undergraduate degree from a non-US University, you must submit your transcripts for evaluation through an International Credential Evaluation Service.  Information about these services may be found here.
  3. Applicant must be able to demonstrate a background in computer science or similar field e.g. related academic work, professional or work experience.*
  4. Resume/CV
  5. Essay/Personal Statement
    • Please outline your academic and professional goals, reasons for pursuing La Salle’s program, relevant experiences, and how this degree aligns with your future aspirations. Applicants should speak about their background in computer science, a related discipline, or other equivalent training e.g., certifications, project portfolios, etc. 500 words.

*Applicants with little to no background in computer science or related disciplines are encouraged to apply, however, they may be required to complete foundational coursework to ensure sufficient academic preparation. In addition, an interview with a faculty member may be required to assess the candidate’s requirements for foundation courses. For questions, please reach out to wang@lasalle.edu.

Selection Criteria

La Salle University does not discriminate against any applicant based upon race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, national origin or ancestry, citizenship, sexual preference or orientation, marital, parental, family, and pregnancy status, gender identity, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any prohibited basis. Admission is based solely upon an applicant’s qualifications.

Transfer Credit

An applicant may request the transfer of graduate credit(s) earned at another institution. Each request will be evaluated on its own merits. Grades accepted for transfer must be “B” or better.  The student must supply a course description and syllabus in order to facilitate the transfer of credit. After matriculation at La Salle, students must have a course pre-approved by the director (in conjunction with the appropriate faculty member(s)) for it to be considered for transfer purposes. A maximum of six credits on the graduate level will be accepted for transfer purposes.

International Students

International students may take this program in the online format, however, the program does not meet the requirements set by the United States to allow applicants to qualify for a student visa (“F” status). For international students considering the online format for the program, the application needs to include the International Credit Evaluation of the transcripts, along with a statement of financial responsibility and an original copy of TOEFL scores. Students must request for the International Credit Evaluation service to send the evaluation directly to La Salle University.
