Our program is designed for certified teachers who are currently working in a K-12 classroom. This is a professional development degree that helps teachers gain a +15 or +30 Masters for their growth toward a level 2 certificate, or a bump in their teacher salary scale.
What is the difference between the Education (M.Ed.) and Education (M.A.) programs?
There are two major differences between the Education (M.Ed.) and Education (M.A.) programs:
The Education (M.Ed.) program does not offer a pathway to teacher certification. The Education (M.A.) does offer a pathway to teacher certification.
The Education (M.Ed.) program is fully online and can accept students in 48 states.
Are classes taken online?
Yes, this is a fully online program offering virtual and asynchronous options. We work around a teacher’s 7-3 p.m. work schedule.
Can I earn credits without certification?
Yes, students can register as a non-degree student. After taking 6-9 credits, we’ll work with you to build a personalized course of study and have you officially apply to the M.Ed. program.
Also, we offer five 15-credit “Area of Advanced Studies,” allowing students to earn credentials without a certification. Many students will earn their 30-credit Master’s degree and then decide to stay with us for an extra 15 credits to earn a Masters +30.
When can I start the program?
We offer multiple start dates 12 months out of the year. Students can begin the program within two weeks of completing all requirements for admission.
Is financial aid available?
We do not offer Title IV financial aid funding; however, students can work with financial aid should they need a private loan.
How will I be supported as a new student?
Our advisors will work with you on an individual level to make sure your needs are being met. Additionally, advisors host monthly new student orientations, so students can learn more about the program.
