La Salle University’s ACHIEVE Program is our pre-licensure evening and weekend Bachelor of Science of Nursing program. This program provides the opportunity to refine critical thinking skills, to strengthen one's self-concept as both a person and member of the nursing profession, and to set a course for self-directed learning and independent action, enhancing one's personal and professional growth. Students who enter the ACHIEVE Program are those new to nursing, career changers, and LPNs who wish to complete the program on an evening and weekend basis. The goal of the program is to enable the graduate to provide professional nursing care, which includes health promotion and maintenance, illness care, restoration, rehabilitation, and health counseling derived from nursing theory and research.
The ACHIEVE Program is offered every Fall semester at the Main Campus in Philadelphia. Students in this program qualify for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) (state board of nursing examination) to become registered professional nurses and to practice as members of the nursing profession. The current program for students admitted consists of 131 credits. The 16 nursing courses are taught over nine continuous semesters once prerequisites are met. Didactic portions of the courses are taught in the evenings during the week. Clinical experiences are planned for day and evening weekend hours.
