Program Highlights
Interdisciplinary Approach
Through courses in a variety of public health topics, informatics, epidemiology, health education, violence prevention, and health policy, as well as practicums in community settings and a final capstone project, students gain firsthand knowledge of the needs of vulnerable and diverse populations.
Community Partnerships
Field study and volunteer experiences with community and public health organizations help students to gain an understanding of today’s most pressing public health concerns and of how they can play a role in addressing those issues.
Applying Knowledge
The capstone project required of every public health student includes the development and implementation of a public health program, followed by an evaluation, mirroring the work that professionals undertake regularly in a variety of public health settings.
