Charlie LoFaso is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. Charlie has degrees in criminal justice, law, and sociology, including an MS in criminal justice from Michigan State University, a J.D. from the University at Buffalo Law School, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from The Ohio State University. Prior to entering the doctoral program at Ohio State, Charlie served as a law clerk to a federal judge in the Western District of New York, and as a municipal attorney at the city of Rochester Law Department. He joined the Rochester (N.Y.) Police Department in 1999 and served as a patrol officer and investigator, including a four-year assignment in the Major Crimes Unit investigating homicides. His areas of interest include homicide, criminal law, and police use of force.
