Outreach Programs

Through La Salle’s wide variety of outreach programs, Explorers have the opportunity to serve individuals and communities in need. By participating in health and wellness, nutritional, and environmental awareness events, among others, students gain invaluable first-hand experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.

About: AIDS Outreach visits Calcutta House residents living with HIV; engages in therapeutic social activities; and sponsors on-campus educational programs.

Mission Statement: The mission of AIDS Outreach is to serve the community by working through F.O.C.U.S. and in conjunction with Calcutta House. Three times a week, La Salle volunteers visit the residents of Calcutta House, strengthening their relationships with the residents through various social activities. Through AIDS Outreach, La Salle students can gain a better understanding of the effects of HIV/AIDS by forming relationships with the Calcutta House residents. AIDS Outreach works to promote a better understanding and to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS within our campus community.

As a program we try to provide recreational activities in and around Philadelphia through our Buddy Programs.  Through our activities we try to form deeper relationships between volunteers and the residents.

Mission Statement: Circle K International is composed of college and university students who are responsible citizens and leaders with a lifelong commitment to community service worldwide. Circle K inspires people to better our world. Its motto, the same as Kiwanis International’s, is “We Build”. Circle K provides constructive opportunities for students to become involved on their campuses and communities through service work to others in need. Circle K members have the chance to work with fellow students, children in the community, and other adults in need of special programs.
