Silver Linings Playbook, directed by David O’ Russell and starring Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro, is the most talked about film of the 2012 Toronto Film Festival—critics predict several Oscar nominations for the film, which is based on the novel of the same title by Matthew Quick, La Salle English/Secondary Education major, Class of 1996.
David Livewell, La Salle English major, Class of 1989,has been awarded the prestigious T.S. Eliot Prize for Poetry for 2012 for his collection Shackamaxon, which has just been published to great acclaim by Truman State University Press. The poems in the collection celebrate Livewell’s boyhood neighborhood in North Philadelphia.
