Computer Science Majors Take Third Place in Mid-Atlantic Programming Competition

Three computer science majors—Candice Schumann, Howard Stickley, and Stephen Szyszkiewicz—took third place in the Association for Computing Machinery programming competition on November 2, at George Washington College in Chestertown, MD. The students, who comprised La Salle’s Blue Team, competed with La Salle’s Gold Team (Sal Calvo, David Hyman, and Matt Finn) and other teams from Mid-Atlantic universities in a contest that involved solving, within a set time, as many complex programming problems as possible. T.J. Highley, Associate Professor of Computer Science, prepared both teams; and Margaret McCoey, Assistant Professor and Director of CIS, ITL Programs, traveled with the teams to the competition.
