Math and Computer Science Donate Books to Habitat for Humanity
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science donated 80 boxes of old textbooks to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore in Chalfont, Bucks County, earlier this month. According to Dr. Jonathan Knappenberger, Chair of the Department, “With the move to the new science center in Holroyd Hall next month, the Department and its faculty wanted to clean out the attic, so to say.” Lentner Jaraba, a sophomore psychology major who works for the Department, helped to fill and load the boxes onto a U-Haul truck to take to the ReStore facility. Habitat for Humanity will sell the books and recycle any unsold materials. Proceeds from the sales and recycling will help fund the construction of houses within the community.
