Career Opportunities

With a specialization in sports communication, students are prepared for jobs across the sports industry. Whether you’d like to write columns about the Phillies for the Philadelphia Inquirer, plan community events for the Philadelphia Eagles, manage the behind-the-scenes work on shows like Inside the NBA, or report from the desk of Sports Center, you will be following in the footsteps of our accomplished alumni.

Pursuing this major opens up doors to careers in:

  • Content creation and editing
  • Production of sports programming
  • Major event planning
  • Coaching and player development

Our students intern with all major Philadelphia sports teams – Eagles, Phillies, 76ers, Flyers, and Union – in a variety of roles, including video editing, photography, marketing, social media, public relations, and event management. Our students go on to full-time roles within these organizations immediately after graduation, supported by our strong network of Communication alumni who have dedicated their careers to Philadelphia sports.

I chose the La Salle Communication Department because of their great resources and connections in the Philadelphia Region. Through the La Salle Communication Department, I was able to land an internship with the Eagles for two years in a row now, attend the Super Bowl and Super Bowl parade, and I even received an official ring. I have learned how to build connections for my future career path, and the program has really given me the opportunity to get a hands-on experience in media and journalism.
