Priority Scholarship Consideration

A limited number of program-length scholarships are generally reserved for fall-entering students. Priority consideration for these scholarships will be given to completed applications, including accompanying material, by the dates listed below. Applications received after the deadline may still be considered for scholarships depending on scholarship availability.

Fall Priority Scholarship Consideration – March 1

Spring Priority Scholarship Consideration – November 1

Rolling application deadlines

Applications are reviewed as soon as they are completed and decisions are made throughout the admission cycle until all available spots are filled. Students may start for Spring or Fall.

We will continue to review completed applications after the posted deadline as space allows. Please reach out to grad@lasalle.edu for more information.

Fall – August 10

Spring – December 10

Application Requirements

  1. A completed application
  2. Official transcript(s) from colleges/universities you have attended for your undergraduate and graduate degree, if applicable.  You need to have completed your undergraduate program from an accredited college/university. If you are in the process of completing undergraduate coursework, you may submit transcripts with courses that are in progress. If admitted, you must submit your final, official transcript(s) with the degree conferred date prior to enrollment.
    • In order for a transcript to be official, it must be received directly from the college/university or through an official third-party service such as Parchment or the National Student Clearinghouse. Transcripts received from applicants and/or an unapproved third party will be considered unofficial.
    • Official transcripts must reflect a minimum of 9-12 hours in psychology, marriage and family studies or counseling
  3. Resume/CV. Experience in an area related to counseling or the mental health field is valued and strongly recommended.
  4. Three (3) letters of recommendation. This should include a college professor who can assess your academic qualifications and abilities as well as a supervisor who can assess your professional qualifications, abilities, and motivation for enrolling in this program.  All references should address your interpersonal skills.
  5. Essay/Personal Statement
    • Your interest in the counseling profession, including information about your academic and career path. Please include any inter-cultural experiences that have influenced you professionally or personally.
    • How do your professional aspirations align with La Salle University’s tradition of service through Solidarity and Justice? This vision calls for Lasallians “to stand with those impoverished and marginalized, to identify inequity and exclusion created by society, and actively respond not merely with charity, but with courage, creativity, and compassion.” The full mission statement can be found here.
    • Applicants are required to engage with program faculty and staff through an Open House, Virtual Information Session, or one-on-one meeting with a program representative. How did this experience influence your decision to apply to our program?

Additional Requirements for International Students
