What activities was the Nominee involved with as a student?
During my time at La Salle, I was a dual major in Finance and Business Systems Analytics, later returning to complete the one-year MBA program. Beyond the classroom, I was a dedicated student-athlete on the baseball team. Lastly, a highlight of my academic career was representing La Salle at the Manhattan University Data Analytics competition. As part of a four-person team, I competed against other Lasallian institutions in a high-pressure, overnight research project, delivering data-driven insights for a national fashion brand.
How has the Nominee remained active or engaged with the University as an alumnus/a since graduation?
My post-graduation engagement has focused on two pillars: Athletics and the School of Business.
Following the decision to cut the baseball program, I worked in a small capacity with fellow alumni/teammates to advocate for its reinstatement. This involved social media marketing and virtual meeting brainstorming.
Professionally, I have prioritized mentorship. For nearly a decade after graduation, I have averaged 2-3 student mentorship calls per year, providing career coaching and tangible resources to help students navigate the transition to the workforce. In 2024, I continued this commitment by guest-lecturing for the Financial Literacy/Investment Club. I developed a comprehensive presentation on Private Equity Real Estate and built a custom Excel model for the students to use in their own analysis, ensuring they left the session with practical, industry-standard tools.
Why does the Nominee want to serve on the Alumni Board of Directors?
After reading the description in the email, I understand the board’s primary mandate is to bridge the gap between our alumni network and the current student body. My goal would to create a “perpetual cycle of engagement” between the alumni and student body. My belief is when students experience the tangible value of alumni support, whether through job shadowing, guest lectures, or athletic mentorship, they are far more likely to serve as active, giving alumni themselves. I want to leverage my experiences to identify the specific needs of our alumni and create opportunities for them to interact with the next generation of Explorers.
One example for our business school is establishing a ‘Technical Excellence Bridge’ by integrating industry-recognized programs such as Wall Street Prep or Breaking into CRE, into a dedicated La Salle alumni-student community. By fostering a network of alumni who have already completed these certifications, we can provide current students with direct mentorship on how to apply these technical skills to their career paths. Partnering with these organizations allows us to build a robust, skill-specific ecosystem within La Salle, ensuring our students are not only technically proficient but also networked with professionals already established in their target fields.
Is there any other information you would like to share with the nomination committee of the Alumni Association Board of Directors?
Having hit the nine-year mark since graduation, I have gained an understanding on how crucial the Lasallian community can be to long-term professional success. My time as both an undergraduate and MBA student gave me a 360-degree view of the university, and I am eager to apply my analytical skills and passion for our traditions to help the Board grow a more connected, vibrant alumni association.
