What activities was the Nominee involved with as a student? Brian was a 4 year baseball player at La Salle. Brian was also extremely socially active, which led to his meeting his future wife, Joanne, at La Salle.
How has the Nominee remained active or engaged with the University as an alumnus/a since graduation? Since graduation, he has stayed involved with the alumni association, the baseball program (integral figure in the efforts to bring the program back to La Salle) and simply being a huge proponent of the school.
Why does the Nominee want to serve on the Alumni Board of Directors? Brian has been giving back to La Salle since he set foot on the campus in 1994. This has been elevated as a graduate, and he continues his mission of being a “mouthpiece” for the virtues of La Salle University. He would like to take advantage of the fact that most of our alumni are still in the Philadelphia region—either professionally or socially. We’re so programmed to automatically think that a “national university” is better than a regional one, but he has seen the exact opposite. Brian thinks we could do a better job at helping our alumni see how valuable the La Salle experience is.
Is there any other information you would like to share with the nomination committee of the Alumni Association Board of Directors? Brian is a connector of people and always looking to help others with no strings attached. In addition, he has been a great friend to me and our classmates/teammates, always the one working hard to keep us connected to each other and to La Salle. Without question, the Alumni BOD and La Salle University would benefit greatly from Brian’s involvement.
