Marketing is a dynamic and cross-disciplinary field, integrating social, economic and quantitative sciences. It is at the core of every business and is the foundation to identifying consumer needs and creating a sustainable competitive advantage. Our students have the opportunity to acquire essential marketing skills while still pursuing a broad range of interests. They gain an understanding of marketing through semester-long research projects with real clients and examine case studies of successful for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
Through exercises in team building, interpersonal communication, and leadership, students learn to influence, motivate, and persuade colleagues. They also learn how to build convincing cases for ideas how to jumpstart game plans.
Students cultivate leadership skills in experiential exercises, drawing on video and personal feedback to identify their strengths and limitations. They then work closely with professors to develop a plan to enhance their skills and later apply their skills through internships and co-ops.
La Salle’s Marketing program combines hands-on learning, internships and co-ops, travel/study courses, and extracurricular opportunities to provide an educational experience that translates into career opportunities.
Our faculty are mentors who help students pursue their specific interests—whether they aspire to a career in manufacturing or financial services, entertainment marketing, or exporting and importing. Students also learn from talented professionals who visit campus to share real-world experiences.
