Current Role: Director of Operations, Savage Sisters Recovery, Inc.
Why do you want to run for the Alumni Board of Directors?
As a first-generation college student and the first of nine siblings to attend college, my time at La Salle was nothing short of life-changing. It was a period marked by personal growth, transformation, and the development of values that continue to shape my life today—most notably, grit, determination, and a deep commitment to service.
Shortly before graduating, I founded a nonprofit dedicated to addressing substance use disorder and housing insecurity—work that reflects the very values I cultivated at La Salle. That organization has since grown into a direct-service provider making tangible impact in our community.
Serving on the La Salle Alumni Board would allow me to give back to the institution that helped shape who I am. It offers a meaningful opportunity to deepen my connection to the La Salle community and to contribute to its legacy of service, compassion, and leadership. I’m eager to bring my experience, perspective, and passion for mission-driven work to the Board and to help create opportunities for future Explorers.
What activities were you involved in as a student?
How have you remained active or engaged with La Salle as an alum since graduation?
I have remained in touch with many of my professors, receiving guidance, recommendations, and support. I have also collaborated and partnered with several of those professors. These collaborations have often consisted of events with the nonprofit organization I co-founded, Savage Sisters Recovery, Inc. Some of the events included clothing drives at La Salle that dozens of students contributed to. The clothes were then donated to Savage Sisters, who redistributed them to unhoused individuals throughout the greater Philadelphia Region. I also connected with teacher and student groups such as BFLP to organize and provide students with volunteering opportunities Outreach events in Kensington. Additionally, through communications with Debra Frankie, I was able to organize internships with Savage Sisters for La Salle students through La Salles Explorer Shadow Program. In addition, several professors have invited me to share and present during their classes, including Meghan Pierces marketing class, and Carolyn Plumps Business Law class. Finally, I was absolutely humbled and honored to have myself and the nonprofit I co-founded be a recipient of La Salle’s most prestigious award, the Signum Fidei Medal.
