Why do you want to run for the Alumni Board of Directors?
I would like to serve on the Alumni Board of Directors because I am passionate about giving back to the University that played a significant role in my personal and professional growth. Through my experiences with the Women in Leadership luncheon, alumni events, and my recent induction into the Alpha Alpha Alpha Honor Society, I have seen firsthand how the alumni community can make a meaningful impact. Serving on the Board would allow me to contribute to the continued success of the University, support fellow alumni, and help foster connections between current students and graduates. I am eager to use my skills and experiences to further strengthen the University’s alumni network and ensure its long-term success.
What activities were you involved in as a student?
As a working adult during my time at La Salle, I was not involved in extracurricular activities. However, balancing work and academics required strong time management skills, dedication, and a high level of commitment to my education. These experiences helped me develop the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities and stay focused on my academic and professional goals.
How have you remained active or engaged with La Salle as an alum since graduation?
Since graduation, I have remained active and engaged with the University in several ways. For the past three years, I have been on the subcommittee for planning and facilitating the Women in Leadership luncheon, which has allowed me to contribute to meaningful events on campus. Additionally, I have attended University sports games and recently had the honor of being inducted into the Alpha Alpha Alpha First Generation Honor Society. I have also participated in fundraising and networking events, further strengthening my connection with the University and its community.
Is there any other information you would like to share?
As a recent Doctor of Education graduate and now a Professor, I have a deep appreciation for the transformative power of education, especially as a first-generation student. Completing my doctorate last year has further fueled my desire to give back to the University that provided me with the foundation to succeed. Serving on the Alumni Association Board of Directors would allow me to support current students, strengthen alumni connections, and contribute to initiatives that promote academic excellence and inclusion. I am excited about the opportunity to bring my experiences as a recent doctoral graduate and current professor to help enhance the University’s alumni network and foster a thriving community.
