What activities was the Nominee involved with as a student? As a student at La Salle, I was largely a part of campus ministry and UMAS, I was a service scholar, a member of the Religion and Social Work Honors Societies, Men’s Club Soccer founder/captain, and was Service Coordinator for Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia’s relationship with La Salle
How has the Nominee remained active or engaged with the University as an alumnus/a since graduation? I still attend the annual Christmas Mass on campus, I keep up to date with La Salle’s Masters of Social Work program (of which I was one of the first graduates), and have kept good relationships with professors and especially the Christian Brothers on campus.
Why does the Nominee want to serve on the Alumni Board of Directors? La Salle University was the cornerstone of who I became as an adult. I learned values for my professional life that I carry with me, but, more importantly, I treasure the values that La Salle stands for. The Christian Brothers also remain a wonderful part of campus. My closest friend from La Salle, Brother Robert Kinzler, who passed away last year, would also have wanted me to serve on this Board.
Is there any other information you would like to share with the nomination committee of the Alumni Association Board of Directors? I would value becoming a part of this board. There are a lot of values and traditions that I feel are important to hold onto, while also continuing to advance the university with the present times. The alumni connections at La Salle have remained immensely important for donations and funding, but, what I hold most important, is the relationships that students find and maintain at this wonderful little part of Philadelphia. I would be honored to help those relationships continue.
