The Explorer Interviews give high school applicants an inside look at our community and Lasallian values. It also gives alumni a chance to support La Salle while sharing their experiences with the next generation of potential Explorers.
The interviews provide a whole-person assessment that can be weighed along with a student’s academic achievement, grade point average, and standardized test scores. The interviews also provide the applicants with another opportunity to present their personal attributes, particular accomplishments, and distinctive characteristics, while also giving them a personalized view of La Salle that might not be conveyed in brochures, college nights, and group information sessions.
Alumni who live outside of the Philadelphia area also have the opportunity to participate in the Explorer Interview Program as well. Prospective students from around the country are offered the opportunity to participate in the interview process. So if you live outside of the area and would like to participate, we will be looking for alumni to meet students where they are geographically located.
Explorer Interviews usually occur in the fall. The program began in 2009 and has yielded great results for alumni volunteers and prospective students applying to La Salle. To participate in Explorer Interviews or learn more, please email Mary Kay McGettigan,’01, MA ’13 at mcgettigan@lasalle.edu.
