Whether you are teaching in the classroom or online, All La Salle Faculty are required to upload their syllabus into their Canvas courses and publish the course before the semester start date.

The Syllabus option, found on the left navigation menu in your course, is a tool that makes it easy for you to welcome your students, highlight ways for them to get in contact with you, link to your printable syllabus, and display assignments and their due dates.

Download either the face-to-face syllabus template or the online syllabus template that includes basic syllabus elements and support information specific to La Salle and tailored to our online students and begin updating it with the outcomes, materials, weekly schedule, and policies for your course.

How to add information to the Syllabus:

  1. Click on Syllabus in your left navigation menu.
  2. Click on Edit Syllabus Description located to the right of the syllabus content area.
  3. Add your content. If you’d like to add a PDF or Word version of your file, click on the Files tab to the right use the “Upload a New File” tool.
  4. Click on Update Syllabus to save your changes.

The video below guides you through the steps to add your syllabus file to the Syllabus page in Canvas.

The detailed overview of the Canvas syllabus page, and the detailed guide to editing your syllabus description in that page can guide you through this process.
