Her postdoctoral work was completed at International Flavors and Fragrances Inc., Union Beach, NJ, and focused on olfaction and psychology. Her work there included investigation of the effects of pheromones on human behavior, particularly emotion, as well as investigation of the effects of synthetic odors. Dr. Wilson joined the Psychology Department at La Salle University in 2003. She maintains a research associate relationship with colleagues at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Dr. Wilson’s research continues to focus on emotion and sensory experience, including the aesthetic experience of flowers, with a strong emphasis on undergraduate mentoring. Courses taught at La Salle have included, among others, Social Psychology, Physiological Psychology, Human Behavior: Developmental Perspectives (Master’s level), a team taught multidisciplinary course on Autism, and, most recently, a course on Drugs in Society. When not engaged in academic pursuits, Dr. Wilson enjoys oil painting, finding aesthetically-pleasing places to investigate, opera and musical theater, and, of course, reading.
